I use this evaluation method with every painting and wanted to share it with you so you can create more expressive works of art. This checklist can help you analyze your painting as you progress and is also a great reminder of what you need to focus on to stay loose with color and brush work. You can use this checklist for every painting you create, over and over. Happy painting!
There are four pages of painting evaluation checklists that highlight focus points to help you achieve a looser style in your floral paintings. These focus points include: Step Back, Leave it Chunky, Use of Color, and Habits, which reflect the techniques or processes you've incorporated into your work.
Step Back focuses on taking a look at your work from a distance and checking off things you should notice in your painting. If you don’t see these points, then go back and add or change something.
Leave it Chunky focuses on your brushwork.
Use of Color focuses on how you use color to strengthen your composition and make it more dynamic.
Habits focuses on the techniques and processes you should use with every painting, no matter the subject.
